Pros
If you’re looking for decently padded tape, ESI’s silicone offering cannot be beat. I use it on all my drop bar bikes. Good level of cushion to the tape, especially if double wrapping (I like cushion on my touring bike). No adhesive on the back to worry about dry rotting or leaving residue behind, which also makes for easier wrapping adjustments.
Cons
Expensive and can easily tear when applying if you are heavy handed. Learned on my first try how easy it is to tear. Won’t call it slippery when wet, but not the grippiest when wet.
