Pros
Great traction, puncture resistance, and tread life. Four and a half years of weekend and early morning rides and I am still riding on it on my rear wheel.
Cons
I replaced my front rim with a 700 for more fender clearance and better tire selection.
wish there was a 4.5 stars choice!

Pros
Pasela is still the excellent manufacturing quality finished product that earned it a great reputation many many years ago (still made in Japan).
These went onto a 83 Schwinn I picked up at a garage sale, no hesitation, I typed "27x1 1/8 black wall panaracer pasela" into Google, selected Modern Bike who had them on sale.
Modern Bike did a very good job on the order, they arrived way before expected and they were NOT folded and nylon banded just to use a smaller cheaper shipping box (bends the wire beads)
Cons
I do agree with what you will find written on many bike blogs, Pasela's are a bit of a "love-hate" relationship!
The super fine-super supple 64 thread carcass and tread capping rubber layer are a slight weakness for tiny objects punctures. (small piece of wire out of a shredded car tire type things.)
But I do experience just as many flats on other tire constructions (with without belts) simply because there are so many different objects that cause the flats so many different ways!!!!
Other Thoughts
choose bike tires based on how you will actually use the bike same as you choose different shoes for different uses.
