If, after a reset, bike computer doesn't snap back completely to original position with the pin on the back extending all the way, computer won't register.
Other Thoughts
I've had two Planet bike computers for almost 10 years, through 1000s of miles and several battery changes, and am very satisfied. I've had a wireless and wired of other brands, and didn't like nearly as much--what is displayed, reliability, ease of resetting.
After about 8 years the wheel sensor suddenly stopped working on one (in 2018)--having 2 computers on 2 bikes makes troubleshooting easier. I had to replace the bracket, and it has been working ever since. Now in 2020 the second wheel sensor stopped working, and I've replaced it with this one. I'm hoping to get as long a life out of these replacements as with the originals.

If you have an older planet bike computer like I have, this Protege wired computer bracket doesn’t work well with the older bike computer. the bike computer will engage the bracket and it will work; but it is nearly impossible to remove the computer once its in the bracket. There must have been a small design change that is causing this to happen. I ended up just buying a new Protege 9.0 computer and saving the older computer.
