This converts an old quill stem to a modern steer tube/stem/bar configuration, which was necessary to get a better fit for an older body on a favorite older bike. The first one I tried was Soma, and it was too tall. This one is too short, but I added a steer tube extender, and have achieved a perfect fit. Couldn't find an adaptor right between the two lengths.

Pros

It works. Took my old Cannondale from 1999 to a more modern set up. It did exactly what I needed it to.

Pros

it does exactly what we needed, connecting on one end to the1” threaded fork, and allowing the use of a conventional modern road stem in place of the typical steel quill stem at the top.

Cons

added weight, but that’s really not the fault of the product itself, considering what you’re asking it to do. if it wasn’t kinda heavy/substantial, it wouldn’t do its job. overall this is exactly what you’d want out of an adapter.
