StarStarStarStarStar The Easy to Use Bugnet

Pros

The Eno bugnet is a great addition to your stash of gear, and provides a huge upgrade in the aspect of hammock camping. The net is super lightweight, and takes up the same amount of space as an Eno Doublenest, even folding into the same convenient bag. The functionality of the net is great. The set up is also very simple. Your hammock is inserted into it through the center zipper, and both ends pulled through small hole which can be tightened down on your ropes, not allowing even the smallest of insects to come crawling in. A thin rope goes from tree to tree, with the top of the net clipping on, to keep it from resting on top of you. The zipper is then closed once you are inside, and you are bug free. This provides an extremely comfortable space to sleep in, allowing you to truly hammock camp wherever, without being affected by bugs, while still enjoying the fresh air of a hammock.

Cons

The net is very fine, and if it does catch onto anything, it may tear, and be hard to notice. This can be solved by paying attention to anything getting inside and looking over the net very closely while it is set up. The hole can then be patched up on the fly, or sent back to Eno's very cooperative customer service care.

Other Thoughts

I used this but net with my hammock on a 35 day cycle tour from Portland to Denver, sleeping in my hammock 50% of the time. A buddy of mine also used it with his hammock, which was not an Eno, and it also worked well. In the beginning of the trip I noticed a small hole, which I patched up easily with adhesive clear tent patches. I didn't have a single issue after that. In an extremely weight restrictive setting, the net earned it's space in my bag many times, keeping me safe from the tiny mosquitos of Wyoming on numerous occasions. I was able to have the freedom of a hammock, and the safety of a bivy sack all in one. If I would have been around trees more often, I would not have even brought a tent with me. If hammock camping is in your future, the Eno bugnet must be in your bag. Another great addition is the rain tarp. With these three things, you can go just about anywhere.

Pros

This bug net is a great buy for the best price! Closes tight and works well. Very compact bag to store it.

Cons

My son was a little frustrated with how close to the hammock the net was. He probably has to get used to it. I know that with time, he can work it better. He wanted to be able to sit/rest during the day in the hammock without necessarily closing the net.

Other Thoughts

Again, the best buy for the best price!!
