bike repair stand
We purchased the stand as a gift for our son at Christmas. He mentioned that he had seen the stand in a bike repair demo and was impressed with it. He said that it has made a world of difference in the maintenance of his cycle compared to the way he did it in the past.
Large and tall, holds bike tight great 69 position!
Not that much!
Comes in a big long box!
Feedback Sports is a great repair stand
This repair stand is just the ticket for doing your home bike maintenance and repair. The tripod legs spread out far enough to keep the bike from tipping. I like the way the clamp works. I've used it on a variety of bikes from steel frame to all carbon and it works well on all of them. It folds up nicely to store or transport. It's built very ruggedly and will probably be the last repair stand I will ever need to purchase.
It's a bit heavy, but that is because it is made of good stuff--all steel.
When I first started using it, the tripod legs wouldn't spread all the way out. For a long time, I didn't even know they would spread wider, but it was becoming hard to open up the stand so I put some lube on the parts that slide up and down and discovered the legs would go out much farther than I thought. SO, put a little spray lube (NOT WD-40, that's a water displacement product, not a lube) on the sliding parts when you first get the stand and you won't have to use it as I did in a less than ideal configuration. Plus it will be much easier to put up and take down,
I also use this stand to dry my bike clothes (which should NEVER be put in the dryer). I took an old broom handle and wrapped some handlebar tap in the middle to increase the diameter so the clamp would grip it. I set the stand up in the spare room, put the broom handle in the clamp, put my jerseys and shorts on hangers and hang them on the broom handle. Works great!
Nice stand. Folds for storage
Older model is Better
Collapses easily and is light and strong. Unlike the Park stand it is easy to store when not in use.
No longer has the quick release/ adjustment for clamping seat post. It is all done by turning the knob. Same is true for adjusting sliding tubes no longer has "C" clamp mechanism.
Still a decent value but no longer a great stand.
