Pros

great dropper seatpost, ks makes good products. a little bit pricey but worth every penny, it makes it easier for me to reach the ground flat footed when i drop the seat coming to a stop. before i was on my toes and have fallen off the bike a couple of times. the seatpost is sturdy and does not bleed down when fully extended not like the cheap ones you find out on the market and you can set the seat at various levels. great addition to a mountain bike or hybrid.

Cons

none so far.

easy peasy install for a guy who doesn't work on bikes. Took me about 15 minutes. Operates as expected, 4" travel is working out better than expected as well, i thought it would not be enough travel but no complaints yet. This is on a 2009 turner highline downhill bike that i'm trying to turn into a hybrid.

Pros

Great dropper post for 27.2 mm seatpost. Nice action and great wiring design. Easy to setup. I had to send my first one in as it was stuck in the up position. I think this was due to use on a cold winter ride at 0 F or it was due to overtightening the seat post clamp. KS quickly (less than a week total from me mailing it out) sent me a replacement when I mailed mine back to them. The new one has performed perfectly.

Cons

Unreliable performance in the cold (less than 10 F). I kept it on the bike, but didn't activate it during cold rides and it would work fine on warmer rides.

Other Thoughts

Be sure to get friction paste for install, you don't want to overtighten it in the seatpost and damage it. I wish these companies would just include a few cents worth of friction paste and save us all aggravation, worry and another trip to the store.

Pros

Works as it should. Online video for installation was key for easy install

Cons

None

StarStarStarStarStar If you're new to dropper posts, this one is a solid value and great performer.

Pros

Rock solid, smooth operation, none of the "typical" play. This dropper post was fairly easy to install and the variable orientation was a big plus especially if you have internal cable routing. Being able to rotate the entry point was awesome. No cable movement is nice. The travel is perfect for me, but I'm not that tall 5'9".

Cons

The installation manual was pretty poor. Yeah, it's not super technical to install, but they could have done a better job. To KS credit, they do have a decent installation video on Youtube.

The only other complaint is that initially I didn't use anti seize (which they do recommend...it's just not something I keep around) and I got quite a bit of creak from it on the trail. Once I applied the anti seize, everything was fine.

Other Thoughts

The remote lever is ok...but KS manufactures an under bar shift lever type replacement called the Southpaw. It sells for about $35.00 separately. For $350.00 they should have just included it in the price or raised the price and included it...it's sooo much better ergonomically and aesthetically. It's easy to install, although you do have to disassemble the cable end and reattach if you buy it after the initial installation. I would have liked to have had this when I installed the whole system from the get go.

StarStarStarStarStar Smooth operation, wide range of adjustment

Ownership: several months
Tech Knowledge: high

Pros

Smooth operation, wide range of adjustment. Seat post feels solid with no noticeable play or flex in any position. The control button is large enough you don't need to look for it and can activate it easily without taking your eyes of the trail.

Cons

Occasionally, if left in a down position for awhile (few days), the post will not return to full height without pushing down on the seat first. Works fine during ride.

Other Thoughts

This is my first dropper post purchased after nearly face planting on a drop when I got hung up on the saddle and could not get my weight back. I ride technical single track a couple of times a week and this post has greatly increased my confidence level. Great seat post.
Although the 100mm travel is nice, I found I only use about half most the time since I prefer to feel the seat between my thighs for bike control and when the seat is fully down I loose that contact.

StarStarStarStarStar Easy installation

by
Ownership: two months

Pros

Easy installation. Good fit. Nice quality.

Cons

Price point. Limited travel

Other Thoughts

Not too many options out there for dropper post for 27.2mm. The KS lev has the most useful features I've seen yet.
Took no time to install with very few tools.

On a dropper post, this is the distance that the post will drop.
