Ownership: several months
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

Accurately and consistently measures tire pressure in my fatty. I never paid that much attention in my regular mountain bike, but the difference between 10 pounds and 13 pounds in a 4 inch tire is a huge difference. This is a precision Gauge and works very well. I don't subject it to any rough handling. I love it.

Cons

easily misplaced. remember where you put it or just buy two to begin with

Other Thoughts

every fat bike owner needs a low pressure guage to properly manage tire p.s.i. this guage works perfectly.

StarStarStarStarStar Bought wrong gauge

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: average

Pros

Low pressure gauge is great. However, I needed a gauge for Schrader valve stem.

Cons

Online info was inadequate. Be careful to choose the correct valve style. The words "Presta" and "Schrader" are not in the description, only in the name of the product. Delivery was prompt, but was left on front step in front of building. I live in apt 2, which has entrance at side. Had it not been for extreme cold weather.I am sure my package would have walked away.

StarStarStarStarStar Works fine

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

Pros

Works

Cons

none

Other Thoughts

Bought it, then found out I need ~75PSI - Not worth returning, I'll just use it at home taking the dial beyond 60.

StarStarStarStarStar OK, but not great

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

Pros

Solidly made, good price

Cons

Had a difficult time taking a reading without air leaking out. No matter how I approached it, could not get a good seal between the valve stem and the gauge. Without a good seal, you can never be assured of a good, accurate reading.

StarStarStarStarStar does the job-good if you like dials

by
Ownership: more than a year
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

Pros

dial instead of stick

Cons

I went back to the stick, keep this for repair kit only

Other Thoughts

go with a stick instead imo

StarStarStarStarStar Gives quick accurate reading

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: average

Pros

Seals air while reading the pair pressure unlike some others.

Cons

Seems fragile. I certainly don't want to drop it.

StarStarStarStarStar Nice gauge

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: average

Pros

Easy to read #'s. Air release valve is great, you can dial in your tire pressure.

Cons

A little big.

StarStarStarStarStar High Quality Guage

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: average

Pros

Small size fits in my tiny seat bag easily.
Gauge is easy to read.
Pressure release valve is handy for fine tuning.

Cons

Not built to be indestructible but it looks like a scientific instrument and reminds me to handle it like one.

Other Thoughts

This is the only gauge I recommend. Others are not accurate and thus, just a waste of money.

StarStarStarStarStar Fat Bike Tire Pressure Gauge

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: average

Pros

Accuracy and reliability.
No batteries to die or digital display to fail.
Tough, simple design.
Large scale with 1/2 psi increments starting at 1.5psi.

Cons

None, unless you must have digital.

Other Thoughts

I purchased a fat bike and needed a proper gauge for the large volume, low pressure tires. I bought this because all the gauges at the LBS were piston type and started showing graduations around 8-10psi, you just know they are not accurate at the low end. I got by on feel and using my gauge as a rough estimate. The old gauge started graduations at 7psi, and I had it set at 8psi. When I placed the new bourdon tube gauge on the tire it said I was running 11psi. I use the new gauge before every ride.
