Ownership: several months
Tech Knowledge: average

Pros

Robust
Easy to use
Reliable

Cons

possibly larger than digital
possibly not as accurate as digital

Other Thoughts

Does what you would expect. Got it for use with carbon components on a road bike, which need to be torqued correctly. Happy with the product, not sure of its accuracy I am sure a good digital would be more accurate, however extreme accuracy is not needed for bikes. Robust and likely not to ever break.

StarStarStarStarStar Quick Delivery / Item Exactly As Described

StarStarStarStarStar Does the job at a good price

by
Ownership: more than a year
Tech Knowledge: high

Pros

Never needs calibration, easy to read

Cons

Very minor, but with a 1/4 inch drive, you usually need to use the adapter which rattles around in the box. Not as compact as some of the small click type torque wrenches, but not as expensive either

Other Thoughts

Not really small enough for the road trip tool box, but perfect for the home shop. Don't underestimate the benefits over a click type torque wrench of never needing calibration and not resetting to 0 before storage (you won't remember)

StarStarStarStarStar Park TW-1 Torque Wrench

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

Pros

Reads from 0-60 inch-pounds.
Reasonably priced.
Simple to use.

Cons

Plastic pointer came off.

Other Thoughts

I bought this torque wrench to measure the pre-load on a differential I was working on. Works quite well for that, among other things.
The only problem I had with it was the plastic pointer tip was loose and came off the metal shaft, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. Not a big deal, as I'll just glue it back on, just a minor annoyance. Otherwise pretty decent quality.
The wrench is 1/4" drive and includes a 1/4" to 3/8" adaptor.

StarStarStarStarStar Great Value

This tool has served me well from setting pinion bearing preload to torquing small bolts on aluminum intakes. Its a great value for a necessary tool that gets the job done.
