GREAT PLETSCHER TWO LEG KICKSTAND
This kickstand allows me to support my "RIDE" without having to lay my bike on the ground or look for a place to lean my bike against. Installed quite easily after I ground down the securing bracket.
I added rubber feet to support the bike on soft surfaces.
This is the second one I've purchased. I have a Beach Cruiser that I've installed a gas engine on and an electric mountain bike which I built. These kickstands are sturdy and you can shorten the legs to suit your ride.
Get a leg up or two.
Never be without a place to rest your bike against. This sturdy stand can hold up a loaded touring bike (100lbs).
Requires hard ground to keep the bike up, gravel is ok. Need to add sturdy rubber material between the stand and frame on the bottom to protect the frame tubes from damage. Requires maintainance and clearing to keep it working properly.
Need to cut the legs to fit your bike. Then might require fine tuning to get it just right where both tires rest on the ground, otherwise the front tire can rotate and possibly tip the bike.
Used on a Trek 7700FX road bike, pulling a trailer for over 600 miles. Never missed a beat. They are awesome for parking a loaded bike.
Can't see how you could find a better center stand if you bike has the hole to mount it. Be very careful when you cut it to size.
Well built and great looking. Attached to an "EVO 27.5". It was just perfect. The bike came with no kickstand but a mounting hole. I needed to ream the hole slightly to move the kickstand away from the rear tire. It was rubbing up against my 2.25" tire. Not a big job and again, the look is fantastic!
Two legs better than one
Essential for loaded touring and loaded or unloaded tandems. Keeps bike stable and can be parked anywhere level. Easy to deploy, does not interfere with chain. Can be shortened with a hacksaw using convenient guide marks on the legs. We didn't, leaving lots of ground clearance for removing the rear wheel and working on the drive train.
Hex-head bolt for mounting wasn't suitable for the custom mounting boss on our Bike Friday tandem: finally abandoned multiple washer solution and replace the bolt with a socket-head to fit into the recessed mount. Should be used with hard surface, narrow legs can sink in soft ground (OK if stable with wheel holding the weight)
If you tour, need to park your bike away from posts and walls, or have a tandem, you need a two-leg stand. The Pletscher fits most bikes, is customizable for wheel size, and is easy to use.
Quick Delivery / Item Exactly As Described
Great design, folds up well, pretty strong to support the weight of the electric bike.
Kind of pricy but worth it.
Over all, good.
