Reviews of Velox Rim Tape
your price $4.17 to $5.58
ChooseTubeless tire leaks
Pros
Easy to install
Cons
Cannot get a tight seal
Other Thoughts
I simply could not get the velox tape to seal; ordered every width available. Most likely it's my lack of talent that was the cause. However Stan's rim tape worked for me, primarily because it has a strong glue and stretches when heated with a hair dryer and pulled tight.
Why buy anything else.
Pros
Easy to install. Durable. Reliable. I have some rims with this tape that are 15 years old that perform without a hitch.
Cons
Not for tubeless set ups.
Oldy but… seriously old
Pros
This is the real deal. Velox rim tape is the right weight and protection for your rim. When it’s new.
Cons
Not a fresh batch so it didn’t stick well. I had to get out the rubber cement and freshen up the glue.
Other Thoughts
I’m not sure if I just got a bad roll or if it was old tape. But it’s water under the bridge now. I freshened up the glue and stuck it down and it looks good. I’d probably buy it again.
It's a Rim Tape
It's a Rim Tape. If your wheel doesn't have one, you need it. Get the right size for the wheel width.
Best cloth rim tape
Don't forget the new rim tape
Old rim tape causes flats. don't forget to replace it. This stuff works fine. Get the right width.
Top notch rim tape
Velox has been my go-to rim tape for decades. Easy to apply and never had an issue with punctures from the rim.
Tape is it better?
I don't know how this tape will hold up, but it seems better than the lining that was in the rim. There is a little hole in the tape which is provided as a guide for the valve stem. Just roll it out keep it straight and in the bottom of the rim and all should be good.
It's the absolute best tape.
I've used this tape on several wheels. It's the best, plain and simple.
Utility: Good to Have on Hand
Pros
Little did I realized a few years ago that the original rim band will wear out and break thereby exposing the rivets and puncturing the tube.
One can never predict where this will happen: either at home or on the road many miles away from services or developed areas, and having one in parts inventory in the tool bag will surely prevent much grief and walking.
Cons
Cannot think of one. Hard to assign a "con" to this product unless the owner simply loses it on the trail or in the grass.
Other Thoughts
None.
An old standard
Pros
It's better than most rim tapes
Cons
Can shift around. Not as good as Conti Easy Tape, which I recommend. It fits exactly.
Utility: no pro or con
Pros
None
Cons
None
Other Thoughts
Merely utility as a spare item to have on hand.
