Long enough to hold most smartphones. Thin enough so that it won't get in the way of your legs.
Cons
Mediocre build quality. Perhaps a little too thin. A bit rigid. Annoying cut-to-length straps.

The bag fits my wallet, keys and phone perfectly. I have the Samsung S4 with a case. Most other bags don't allow room for the phone case. The clear cover is a bonus. One of my biking buddies is ordering one on my recommendation.
Cons
You have to trim the velcro otherwise it will rub your legs when in a standing position, but not a big deal.
