Love the ride? That's why we're here!
I've put thousands of miles on this saddle, and it just keeps getting more comfortable. After some second thoughts, I tried this on my mountain bike and think it's great there too. Leather, and the Brooks saddles in particular, seem to be the standard for long distance touring. My son and I rode across the US a couple of years ago and were very pleased with our saddles. The Brooks saddle riders were about the only other folks we met who seemed to be consistently happy with their saddles.
They do take additional care, mostly protection from rain. A good seat cover for riding in the rain, I like the Aardvark brand waterproof, takes care of it. Also, you need to pay attention to tightening the saddle periodically, or you may get some cracking around the seat rivets, as my son has experienced. The Brooks saddle treatment seems kind of expensive, although a small tin lasts a long time.
Leather saddles are a bit heavy. I'm still trying to talk myself into adding that additional weight to my Ti bike. I've got Brooks saddles on my training and touring bikes.
For comfort, the Brooks saddles seem to be the way to go. About the only place I'd be reluctant to use them is on a racing bike. Although, I'm considering doing a team ride of the RAAM and will definitely use my Brooks on that ride.
Comfortable, nose not too high. Looks great.
Saddle doesn't go "back" far enough. It is noisy (takes frequent adjustment). Heavy!
I also have a Selle Anatomica on another bike and it is a better saddle. I put a Brooks Cambium on my road bike and I like it better than the Flyer. I am a 60 yr old male and have had sciatic nerve issues for the past several years (hence the shopping for a comfortable saddle). These three are all good, but if I were to buy another Brooks saddle, it would be another Cambium. No adjustments for noise, immediately comfortable.
