Pros
Reasonable price for Campy replacements. The only ceramic bearing pulley in the set is the lower. I looked at my originals from 2012 and they really don't appear to be ceramic. Not a huge concern since I went thru 4 chains and a set of front chainrings already. My decision to replace was based on tooth wear and floppy side to side play when gripped and moved laterally. I keep the drivetrain very clean. Newer replacement sets (not ceramic bearing) come with a top pulley with longer teeth... I got a set from another vendor (not ceramic). After a small amount of trepidation, I put that set on first. I have kept the top one on, as shifting performance was improved.
Cons
None that I can see. As mentioned, I do like the longer teeth on the top pulley for accurate shifting placement from top jockey pulley to cog which need to be aligned. Since my original bering in the top was not ceramic, I felt that was not a critical friction factor, and may wear too quickly in that position. If you can live without the ceramic bearing factor, you can opt for the more universal replacement set and still get long life if you keep the drivetrain clean.
Other Thoughts
There are a number of sweet ceramic pulley wheel sets available aftermarket, in fun colors and lots of aero looking hollow areas to reduce weight, but I prefer Campy parts for Campy things. Reasonable price for these, but only lower wheel has ceramic bearing. I guess it boils down to personal preference on elite parts. I thank Modern Bike for great service.
