Can I use my CycleOps Trainer with my thru-axle bike?
Out-of-the box, these CycleOps trainers are designed for bikes with quick-release skewers, not thru-axles.
In most cases you can replace your existing rear thru-axle with a specially designed thru-axle that has end caps to fit in the trainer. There is no standard size for a thru-axle, so you do need to check a few measurements to find the proper one for your bike. We suggest the Robert Axle Project Trainer Axles
. They have fitments for the widest variety of bikes and can replace your thru-axle for both indoor training and outdoor riding.

Trainer resistance is available in fluid, wind, magnetic and electronic. Magnetic trainers are most common and have fixed levels of resistance. Fluid trainers have progressive levels of resistance; the harder you pedal, the more resistance they provide. Wind trainers tend to be very noisy, as they generate their resistance from a fan. Electronic trainers require a power source and can often provide the most powerful and precise levels of resistance. They sometimes can include virtual reality interfaces for a more interactive experience.
