Other Thoughts
This is my most recent Cygolite HotShot purchase. Started with the 50 lumen version many years ago and have upgraded every time the brightness option improved. The Hypershot 350 USB is without peer. It is visible from more than a 1/4 mile with unparalleled brightness even on the brightest sunny day.
For a cyclist who wants to ensure they are noticed and visible the Hypershot 350 USB is a must have. When combined with one of the Cygolite white high lumen units it is the best visual safety system offered.

Pros
- Obvious high quality of manufacture
- Very bright
- Flash patterns do an excellent job of alerting overtaking traffic
Cons
It is difficult to turn off cleanly. The on/off switch is the same as the switch that lets you choose flash patterns. To turn the unit off you have to depress the switch, wait for a dim red signal that fades, and release the switch before the fade is complete. If you wait too long you're on to the next flash pattern and will have to cycle through the other six patterns to get back to your original choice. Then you have to try again. There is no "off" position in the sequence of patterns. This light replaces an Axiom which was also a good light, but after 16 yrs. it wouldn't hold enough charge to last a 2 hour ride. It did have an "off" switch position.
Other Thoughts
I live in a high desert city and my skin is particularly sensitive to UV. Almost all my rides start at 5AM and few finish past 7AM. I rely heavily on my lights, and the Cygolite Hypershot 350 is an excellent part of my system.
