Pros
Easy to apply (see below for caveats).
Does not attract dirt or sludge.
Highly weather resistant. Sand and crud thrown by tires onto chain following
or during rains can be rinsed off while wet with a hose and nozzle or thumb
spray without affecting or removing lube.
Apparent long service life. 500+ miles so far with no performance loss.
Cons
Pricey. Recommended for hard core DIY maintenance riders and wet weather riders.
Product cannot be applied during cold weather or if product is cold (it does not flow).
To apply when cold outside, warm up product first in bath of warm water or put in a
warm location until product shakes like water. Warm clean chain with heat gun before
applying if applying when very cold. (See "Other Thoughts")
When riding in very cold weather, chain lube must "warm up and flow" from friction until
noticeable pedaling drag goes away. No pedaling drag perceptible if temp above 65F.
No drag or delay in shifting performance whether hot or cold.
Other Thoughts
Almost used up my first bottle of this new product. I'll be buying more.
For best results before applying Ceramic Wax Lube, previously lubricated chains
should be completely cleaned (dipped in an automotive parts cleaner like McKay Parts
Dip, solvent cleaned, washed with detergent solution and rinsed, then completely dried
out).
Applying lube generously to a suspended chain works best for me (to prevent drip off
and make sure lube gets in and around all parts of the chain and rollers).
Allow chain to dry for a day, then apply lube a second time so that any missed spots get
covered. Allow to dry for another day before installing on clean chainwheels and sprocket
clusters.
I am happy with this product and changed my initial 4 star rating to FIVE STARS.
Lubrication and chain cleaning cycle looks like it might be stretched to 1,000 miles
with a touch-up application to the chain on the bike after 500 miles.
