I purchased from Canada which ended up being a $400 part after duty and shipping.
I have a carbon drive bike with Alfine drive system and thought there would be no problem, however once installed the crank arms contacted chain stays, basically the part is of no use.
The Q factor is not listed in the part specs, this is not a mountain bike, it is, a city bike with standard 68 mm bottom bracket.
Gâtes does not seem to publish the Q factor on their site so I can’t really fault modern bike for not doing so, however I’m a little disappointed that the crank arms are so narrow and will not fit a common city bike.
Other Thoughts
Perhaps more detailed specs would help prevent mounting issues.
