For ease of use, the Sport Rider SE4 hitch bike rack comes out of the box set up as a 2-bike base unit. The two bike add-on kit (included in the box) is easily assembled to the base unit by installing & tightening two bolts. Features the patented "No Wobble-No Tools" hitch tightening system and includes locking frame hooks, a keyed-alike locking hitch pin, and an 8' security cable. This rack can fold flat against the car when not in use and tilts down for easy cargo door access. For 2" hitches only.

    Ownership: a few months
    Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

    Pros

    - Expandable to 4 bikes
    - Rack can be tightened so that it does not rattle
    - Can open the rear hatch on a 2018 Mazda CX-9 while it's in the folded up position
    - Platform racks are better than hanging racks (IMO)

    Cons

    - A bit heavy
    - Manual recommends for frames that are not cylindrical (e.g. square, oval, etc.) (why not include that?) at the point where the j-shaped bar descends onto the top tube
    - Locking cable can be cut easily with large bolt cutter

    Other Thoughts

    I've only owned 3 racks and have some experience racking my bike onto other people's racks. So far, this is the best one I've tried.

    Pros

    - Easy to put on hitch
    - secure and doesn't rock around on hitch
    - Easy to secure bikes
    - Easy to rearrange components to fit large and small bikes

    Cons

    - none that I can think of

    Other Thoughts

    We use this to carry around 2 adult bikes and 2 small/toddler bikes and I have no complaints
