You will need a quality cable cutter to trim this housing. I have found that an abrasive cutoff wheel does a good job. I use a Dremel tool with their thin one-inch cutoff wheel to trim the cable housing to length. Then open up the plastic liner in the housing with a sharpened piece of spoke to minimize friction before inserting brake cable.
