Overall great lock

Product:
Kryptonite KryptoLok Combination U-Lock: 4" x 8"
Ownership: several months
Tech Knowledge: average
Pros
-I prefer combos over keys because I tend to lose keys.
-Cover to slide over the combination when not in use, helps protect hardware from weather but also hides the fact that it's a combo lock from passersby (I've heard combo-types are easy to break because of this feature).
-Very secure when locked in place, doesn't jiggle around, snaps easily into place.
-Feels very sturdy and durable
-Good size, I haven't had any trouble finding places to lock my bike because it's big enough to fit around most poles, parking meters, small trees, etc. Also small enough to fit in my smallest bag, or to leave on the bike when I'm riding.
-Very happy with this lock
Cons
-The numbers on the combination lock slide around way too easily, don't stay in place, and are very close together and small, making it more difficult than necessary to align them to unlock. There's no obvious line across which to align the numbers, so you just eye-ball it and it's usually fine, but it can get annoying especially if it's cold out and you don't want to spend any more time dealing with your lock than necessary.
I wish the individual numbers would click into place and have more resistance so that, if my finger by pushing the neighboring number accidentally brushes up against the first, it doesn't mean i have to go back and re-adjust that first number each time. I don't have big fingers or poor fine motor skills, so I'm sure a lot more people deal with this as well. But it's a small inconvenience overall. I still prefer it over a key lock.
