Puncture proof at this point which I doubt will change! When I had a flat at least once a month prior to buying this set. For the only true puncture resistant tire, that I have tried. The one just before this set were Kenda K838 which is not in the same ball park as the Michelin. Kendas were not a well made tire like this set. Out of balance and got two flats in the first two weeks owning those tires. Which is why I bought this pair. To say Im thrilled with the protek tire! Its both well balanced and a real smooth riding tire. And is flexable for air pressure. When I first inflated them to 40 psi for a really smooth ride. Just slightly more effort to pedal. Now at 60psi the ride is firmer but still not like a rock. With another 18 lbs to go. Ive pulled bullheads out of these tires. Without any loss of air pressure at all. These tires happen to be everything positive your to read, I will buy these again and again. Whats more is the fact there not to bad in the loose stuff. Like gravel as youd think. On hard pack they grip fine for my needs. Even better if you air them down.
Honestly I cant think of one con except I didn't buy them along time ago!
I shopped for a pair of city tires with inverted tread for months before buying any pair. I wanted these for the simple reason. Michelins been in the tire business longer than any of the bicycle tire companies. So if they cant build a quality tire who will you trust? When you can find others but not at this price and same quality. Why pay more and for what?? The set I have are in a 26 x 1.85 when I used narrow tires in the past. However as those were a faster tire. They also are not at all good on anything but cement or pavement. Even there you haven't the contact mark these so have for grip! When these Im able to take any corner and with speed! leaning my bike farther over than I have with any other in the past. Not at all lose anything for grip. As long as your on cement and dry. I wouldn't try this when its wet. My bike still looks real nice for that mountain bike look. Maybe even better when these tires happen to have a cool look about them for tread design. Unlike no others. That really works. Last with my bike upside down working on it. When I turn the drive train. To check how this tire happens to track. For being out of round. These track as a quality set should. Which is perfect. Unlike nothing the kenda tires could show me. That will get worse with more psi in the kendas. These will continue to run perfectly with confidence!
