I prefer Origin8 products as aftermarket parts: they're a vendor to all the top name bike manufacturers, and I find all their products well-made and affordable.
Pros
well made, pinned/ramped rings of this BCD difficult to find: this 38t middle ring fit the bill for my preferred touring triple--Sugino--and is an effective solution to the pain in my ears from the formerly installed Surly SST ring w/o ramps/pins: whenever I replaced the wife's chain, it took a minimum of 300 miles to "break-in" the chain and prevent chain-wrap around the SST ring...and I'm all about peace and quiet in the home, and on the bike...
Cons
the ring comes with no instructions for orienting the "clock position" of ramps/pins for best performance shifting to big or small ring...took a bit of experimenting on the bike stand to figure out, mounting/dismounting the middle ring each iteration...
Other Thoughts
the Surly SST ring is probably best used as a single-speed front spider set-up, or MTB/road bike with less than 8 speed rear cluster (as advised by note on Modern Bike site--duh...) All our bikes are 9 speed...
