Lightweight and Rolls Well
by Willie of Columbus, GA on October 27, 2024
Product:
Origin8 Captiv-8er UL 26 x 3.5" 120 tpi Folding Tire
Ownership: a few months
Tech Knowledge: high
Pros
Lightweight
Low rolling resistance
Looks good
Easy to install
Cons
Possible durability issues...I had a Vee Speedster before which is the same tire (this one is rebranded), and it suffered a blown-out sidewall, and I've read others with similar issues. But this one is fine so far and hopefully it will stay that way.
Fat trailbike to city adaptation.

Product:
Origin8 Captiv-8er UL 26 x 3.5" 120 tpi Folding Tire
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high
Pros
Shipment was promt. These are directional even though you can't tell it from the tread. For $51 they are a bargain. So far all use has been in town. They are faster and quieter.
Cons
I started with 10psi front 12psi rear and found them to be self steering. At 18psi front and back the self steering was nearly gone but the tires were liken to basket balls at this pressure. So to keep the flotation effect I've been useing 12psi front and rear and tolerating the self steering. ( 1 star removed due to this). With wide trailbike handlebars there's enough leverage the track straight.
Other Thoughts
Due to the self steering I wouldn't recommend these for a young persons bike.
