I added these hooks to my back-roller panniers before riding the Oregon Outback route which includes ~180 miles of unpaved roads, 20-some of which was overgrown path through pasture. The extra hook, positioned correctly on my rear rack (Salsa alternator rack), entirely muted rattling and was incredibly stable. I couldn't believe it!
The hooks were easy to install with no tools, and basically the same as those that originally came with the bags. I will continue to use for future unpaved overnight trips.

Pros
Somehow I lost the anchoring hook that came with my saddle bag, I was delighted to find ModernBike.com had exactly the replacement part I was looking for! It came to me at a reasonable price in a decent amount of time. Now my saddle bag is nice and secure to the frame once again!
