No adhesive backing. I put some spray adhesive on the first few inches to help it stay put.
Other Thoughts
I used this while restoring a '90s bike for a friend,
on my CX bike, & now on the road bike as well.
Some think it looks dated, but since I am dated myself-what the heck.
