Reviews of Axiom Journey Rack - Black
Solid and great value
Pros
Second time I bought one of these. One is on my workhorse bike, the second is on my winter mountain bike. I have an 8 gallon tote mounted to this rack and no matter how grizzly the conditions or heavy the load, this rack laughs it off.
Other Thoughts
The back of the rack bends upwards, easy to bend flat in a bench vise if needed.

- extra rear brace provides stability, protects spokes/fender stays/panniers
- light mount
- simple, clean design
- curved front and back surface provides more flexibility with top cargo
Cons
- installation is a bit tricky: for best results, loosen the cams that connect the fender to the stays all the way for more range of motion. This will allow you to connect to your mounts easier.
- light mount is a bit flimsy

Not truly road trip tested yet, but love it so far.

solid rack
Pros
Good solid rack. Easy to mount. Have carried 40-50lbs of camping stuff for a couple days with no trouble. Using with the Axiom 45L pannier bags and fit is trouble free and perfect.
Cons
Painted black not anodized I think? Paint get scratched / scraped off and aluminum shows. Not a big deal, my whole bike looks like that. Haha.
Also, had to cut down the attachments that go to the seat stays for one bike. Again, not a big deal. Easy job with a hacksaw.
