StarStarStarStarStar Easy and so worth it

by
Ownership: a month

Pros

If your shifter is broken this is a quick and easy fix. Don’t send it to get “fixed” and “installed” when this a great solution and very doable by yourself.

Cons

None really

Other Thoughts

Great freaking product. Campy needs to make their shifters more reliable - if it breaks down, this is the perfect fix just make sure it matches your previous!

WITHOUT IT WOULD HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE UNIT A LOT MORE $!

StarStarStarStarStar Replacement Shifter

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: high

Pros

Improved shifting over old body, also upgrade over the existing part. Easy swap for most diy-ers.

Cons

None so far

Other Thoughts

Doing the swap much better than having to find and buy a new or used shifter.

StarStarStarStarStar Campy Ultra Torque Replacement shift assembly

by
Ownership: more than a year
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

Pros

Really easy to swap out instead of doing a rebuild of the small parts inside the shift assembly. Restores the perfect Campy shifting. This is an upgrade to Record level from my Chorus.

Cons

Getting harder to find as I assume Campy is phasing out 10 speed?

StarStarStarStarStar Super Record Ultra-Shift Right Lever Body Assembly

by
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: high

Pros

The shifting is crisp and dependable, while removal and re-installation of the new unit was fairly straightforward and simple. Not a overly expensive part, considering a new Super Record Right Shifter is considerably much more money and your're getting the same performance and functionallity.

Cons

Although I love everything about Campagnolo and it's extensive network of parts and serviceablity, the 11 Speed Super Record Right Shift Lever Assembly seems a little more fragile because of the extensive use of carbon throughout the shifter. The weight savings is negliable at best, but this is my second Super Record shifter assembly within five years. May be a manufacturing glitch, but I don't remember that kind of durablility for the older 10 or 11 speed Record and Chorus shifters, which seem to last a lifetime.

Other Thoughts

Unlike the other players in the cycling industry, which pretty much require purchasing entire new shifters to repalce old shifters, Campagnolo still has an extensive parts supply to cover it's 11 and 12 speed setups, as well as parts to replace some of the older 8, 9 and 10 speed drivetrains.

StarStarStarStarStar Campy shifter

Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high

Pros

Works well. Smooth shifting. Pretty easy to install. Cable routing very easy.

Other Thoughts

Takes a while to dial in Campy so that shifting is accurate.

StarStarStarStarStar Easy 11 speed upgrade

by
Ownership: a few months
Tech Knowledge: high

Pros

Almost all you need to upgrade 10 speed Centaur to 11 speed

Other Thoughts

move your Centaur right shift body brake lever, hood & metal clamp to this Athena body; it's pretty easy, look for tutorials on YouTube
get an 11 speed cassette & an 11 speed chain, and you're done
seems like almost all 10 speed front & rear derailleurs have the same cable pull ratio as 11 speed
looking at P/Ns, the 11 speed Athena left shift body is exactly the same as the 10 speed Centaur, so no need to replace
Should cost no more than $150; I'm using a Shimano 10 speed cassette and my total cost was ~ $120
