Best upgrade
Pros
Easy to install, love the quick point of engagement when riding on technical trails; over wet roots and rocks ??. This is my 2nd wheelset I had upgraded.
Cons
Price
Other Thoughts
The best 100 dollars I ever spent on.

Easy install, noticeable results
Pros
This product was easy to install if you read the instructions and maybe watch a video on YouTube.
The result is quick hub engagement coming out of corners, providing immediate acceleration with minimal waste of energy
Cons
Just make sure you have a firm grip on the hub and know how to disassemble prior to doing the work. I didn’t and this resulted in springs and the existing ratchet flying across the room.
Other Thoughts
This is a 5 minute upgrade and worth the price for the noticeable gains. Plus it sounds cool when you’re freewheeling.

Turn your clickity click into DRRRRRRRRRRR!
It makes great noises, and the higher engagement is a plus. Simple install.

Quick Ship and Great Pricing
Great shipping speed and price.

Ratchet Upgrayydd
Pros
I installed this in a brand new DTswiss 350, and I have been using this all summer. It's been great. I've had torque on tap for technical sections and tricky manuevers, and it's never let me down pedaling. The noise is great. The install was very easy, and everything I needed was in the kit - DTswiss 350s disassemble with no tools, so that makes life very easy.
Pros:
1. Good performance - low angle-to-torque
2. Great Noise
3. Easy install
4. Great value - performance for price is acceptable, even though it is pricey for a small component
Cons
The only thing I don't / didn't love is the lubing instructions. I'm not sure exactly how much grease is to be applied, and it sounds like there is a window of appropriate greasing: too much risks reducing engagement, too little risks damage from friction. I used my best judgement, I think I put slightly less than the amount of grease on the stock pawls on. The noise, though great, is slightly irregular. I wonder if that's because of uneven lube? I could pretty easily fix this though, because disassembly requires NO TOOLS. Also - this is an expensive little part, even though it's really nice.
CONS:
1. Fickle and unclear Lubrication requirements
2. Possibly inconsistent noise? tone changes as if something is cycling, possibly presence/absence of grease.
3. Cost - pricey, even though it is a good value.

DT Pawls
If you wanna freshen a DT 370, this is for you. Good as new

Quick engagement
Pros
Very quick engagement
Cons
none

DT Swiss 54t Star Ratchet Kit
Pros
Works like it's supposed to, easy to install, so far so good, hopefully with the smaller teeth it doesn't wear out quickly.
Cons
a little pricey for what it is.
Other Thoughts
It's better to have the 54 engagement points than the 36 that came stock on my bike

Necessary upgrade from 18T
Pros
Fast engagement
Positive sound but not obnoxious
Cons
Ridiculously expensive
Other Thoughts
Ordered some mercury carbon wheels with Swiss hubs and they came with 18T. They had 3-4” of pedal travel before engaging. Especially in techy climbing they were obnoxious and hindering. Upgraded to this 54 tooth and it is a much more responsive ride with no “clunk” on engagement. Really silly how much they charge for these when they should really just come standard

DT Swiss 54t Star Ratchet Kit:
Pros
Awesome engagement. love the sound not over welming
Cons
Gotta grease frequently
Other Thoughts
But its worth it !

Easy to install, super buzzy
Pros
Very easy to install. Clear instructions. Wheel spins louder now.
Cons
Too buzzy for some, I’m ok with it.
