The fenders look great & work well on my bike. I had to take off the plastic break-away extensions on the front fender, in order to fit it properly on my bike. But, not doing any trail riding anyway. Very satisfied with my new fenders!

These are the easiest metal fenders to install. Best of all, they provide good coverage and look good.

Very reasonable in price, almost 50% cheaper than local bike shop. They are a bit wider allowing extra room if you pick up a rock or small branch etc. I kept cracking fenders but the extra width of these fenders prevents that from happening. Again very reasonably priced as everything I have purchased from your store has been. You will be seeing my name a lot. I'm going to be a life long customer. I have recommended you to several of my friends. You have been very helpful when I spoke to one of your employees on the phone. They knew their stuff and just what to recommed at times when I wasn't sure.

Pros

I had a set of these fenders installed on a prior bike several years and was extremely satisfied then. They are more durable and tighter (no rattling) than the plastic ones. They also have a good appearance. When I recently got a new bike I wanted the same type of fenders. The bicycle shop didn't carry them anymore (tho' the shop owner had them on his bike) so I searched online and happily found a vendor that carried them.

Cons

I had them installed at the bike shop and would have had some difficulty myself as there had to be some configuring to make them fit due to the disc brakes. I don't think they charged me. I'm a good customer! These are the only fenders I will buy for a bicycle. I highly recommend them.

Other Thoughts

I had the plastic version and it cracked at the bottom rear bolt after about 1500 miles on my Surly disc trucker.These appear to be the same but the aluminum should last longer.I also used rubber washers at the bolt on points.The only problem is the plastic piece that bolts to the front fork on the brake side needed to be removed.It's too bulky and the spacer provided still didn't help.I eventually just took the old plastic version's stay and used that instead.Also, the stay on the brake side has to be bent around the brake.But it looks good,rides quietly,and keeps me dry.

Pros

Easy to install. Keeps all the road junk off of the front of the bike frame as well as the crank set and front derailleur.

Cons

Not all bolts supplied will allow you to mount these to a bike with disc brakes and not all bolts are long enough. I had to go the the hardware store and buy extra stainless steel bolts to mount these fenders. I also had to cut part of the rear fender to give additional clearance to the front derailleur.

Modern Bike is a great company to deal with. I have bought many items from them and they really ship things fast.

Pros

The title says it all. I have Planet Bike Fenders for all of my bikes and have no reason to consider any other brand. They've made design improvements over the years and it is as good or better than any other fender on the market.

Other Thoughts

Would be nice if it came with some extensions, or longer slotted extenders, for mounting on the cross member on the seat stays and on suspension corrected forks.

Installation procedures given are guidelines. Design lends itself to cutting, shortening and modifying for a high quality custom light weight fit.
