Reviews of Problem Solvers Quick Release Light Mount
Problem Solved!
Pros
This works well on my Tubus Tara front rack for a handlebar style light. The low location provides good placement for light. There is a bit of vibration right down by the front wheel, but it is acceptable.
Cons
It comes with a short screw, which may work for a threaded applicatiion. You will need a longer one for a thru mount.
Love Problem Solvers!
Pros
If you have Surly racks, where the mounts for the lights(?) are attached "sideways" this part is almost a necessity-- at least if your lights are attached with silicone bands. No one else offers a solution.
Mounts to the rack solidly. Finish is good.
Cons
Too bad it isn't supplied with a plug to cover the open end of the mount. Only a cosmetic detail, however, it functions perfectly as-is.
works well wish it was a inch longer
Pros
Works very well holds one device if longer more useful
Cons
Non
Perfect
Pros
Simple, well-finished design fits right into the mount it's intended for.
Cons
None I found.
Worked as expected
Pros
Well built and well described
Other Thoughts
Nicely constructed and allowed me to attach a headlight to my bike.
Truly a problem solver
They work great. I have a touring bike that I often ride after dark. I have two of the Problem Solvers mounted on the front eyelet of my Surly front rack. I’ve been riding on some pretty rough roads. So far the mounts have stayed on the bike and my lights have stayed on the mounts. They’re great!
Problem solved!
Pros
With the configuration of panniers and a handlebar bag I have, I could not mount my cygolite headlight on my handle bar or front forks. The Problem Solvers Front Rack Light Mount attached to an existing braze-on on my Surly front pannier rack and allowed for optional location that provided an excellent mounting point!
Cons
None yet. Only had the mount for a month. Gave it 5 stars for solving the problem. Time will tell if it works out under multiple adverse situation and weather conditions.
Great accessory!
Pros
Sturdy construction
Looks good
Easy to install
Cons
None for me
Other Thoughts
Bought this for my touring bike because my light was blocked after buying a handlebar bag. It does exactly what it says in the description and looks good too. Having the light lower to the ground helps give better vision of what's ahead at night.
Great solution for limited light mounting issues...
Pros
Adds light mount where bar space is limited or aero bars prohibit.
Secure fit
Quality materials
feels and appears well engineered
Wide enough for common lighting choices
Cons
Lower mount than some prefer...but not really a con of the mount.
Other Thoughts
I have aero dropbars and already have a computer and occasionally a bar bike packing pack that make mounting a light difficult but not necessarily impossible. I chose this option because I like the light mounted lower and it also lights up the wheel for additional visibility for side vehicles. (As for head on vehicle visibility, I'm less concerned about that from the front vs the back.)
Easy to use, but depends on the light
Pros
Free up space on bars
Cons
Your light's beam pattern may not work well when placed down next to the wheel. My Lights and Motion Taz 1200 just didn't work as well when placed down lower, so I went back to putting it on the bars.
