Reviews of Surly Open Bar Black 40mm Rise

I have these on an old mountain bike I fixed up. Great comfy bars that are good for cruising but I've found them to be responsive and steady as well.

Well, of course, it would be nice if it were a little less expensive, but I am not complaining. I love it.

My 2nd open bar.(straggler light camping tourer) last one was zero rise, but the 40mm. rise is more versatile..when the racks and fenders come off in the summer, I flip 'em for the 40 mm. drop.

Put bars on an Townie Electra and they made a comfortable bike even better. Better hand position while seated or standing.

Tough to know exactly what you're getting--in terms of shape and bike fitment-- if you're ordering these online....because it's kind of an uncommon shape.

I was able to add some bar ends facing inward, inboard of my grips and brake levers and bar-wrap the whole assembly to create a bunch of other hand positions. Folks who say a bar like this is limited to one position at the end of the bars aren't thinking outside the box enough, there is plenty you can do with these.

Perfect bars for my Felt Cruiser. Good quality and Kool looks! very comfortable stance. Like a lot!
