I installed this chainring on a Burley tandem for the middle chainring. The chainring that came off had shift pins and ramps so I was a bit worried that the gears would not shift properly but they shifted fine

Well made and long lasting. This is my second one, the first one wore out after 5 years and many miles. Very pleased with it, so I did not hesitate to get another one. Modern Bike was easy to order from and fast shipping too.

Very high quality, fit is perfect, and this polished up beautifully with metal polish such as Flitz metal polish. I checked the 'flatness' and diameter on a granite block and .0001 micrometer. I was amazed that this chain ring in all dimensions was +.001 in some areas but -.000 in all others. Amazing. And considering that this is stainless steel, it should last at least 3x longer that the best forged aluminum alloy.

Surly products have always been top notch in my experience. This is no different. Fairly simple and straightforward product. Clean finish and it's been tough as hell. Small Surly logo looks good lined up opposite the OD crank.

Great product at a great price. Stainless steel is the perfect material for the chainring on my internal-geared commuter bike. No derailleurs means greater wear on drivetrian components, so I'm hoping to get longer life out of this ring.

A bit heavier and a little more expensive than aluminum, but the longer life of the ring should greatly offset its higher cost. And weight is not really an issue on a commuter bike.
