Great all around tires!
by J-Dub Jus Ridin on September 23, 2019
Product:
Soma Cazadero Tubeless K Tire, 700 x 50 - Black/Black
Ownership: a few months
Tech Knowledge: average
Pros
These tires are nothing short of amazing! I put these on my Trek 8.2 Gary Fisher DS hybrid, and now it can roll right on through about any terrain. (it won't go through snow and deep sand, obviously). I think most if not all hybrids should come with these tires! A true cyclocross masterpiece.
Cons
Price
Installation difficulty (need a bead jack)
Other Thoughts
My wheel rim width is about 19mm, and the true width of these tires is about 47mm. I try not to get less than about a .40 - .35 support ratio (rim width / true tire width) since you can start to roll the bead if you ride aggressively past this. I also still have about 3/16" of clearance on each side of the back tire.

Great all-rounder

Product:
Soma Cazadero Tubeless K Tire, 700 x 50 - Black/Black
Ownership: a month
Tech Knowledge: somewhat high
Pros
- Fast
- Supple (8/10)
- Confidence inspiring on loose, wet terrain.
- Great price from Modern Bike
- Lots of floatation
Cons
- Didn’t measure, but my eye tells me they’re about 46mm
Other Thoughts
Bought these because the terrain around here in winter can be slippery and I wanted more confidence than I felt with the slicks I was running. These are fast-rolling on the road but offer tons of confidence when the the dirt paths get rough, loose, or wet.
