- Perfect adjustment for my 2020 Karate Monkey to set the axle at the right location.
- Monkey-simple...no ambiguity.
- easy install.

- I'm not supposed to comment on pricing, and Modern Bike was priced better than almost anywhere else, but Surly is really gouging folks for:
--a) not including these with all their framesets that need them.
--b) charging so much for what is functionally a piece of machined aluminum.
- I know you should be able to get away without one, but I wanted the piece of mind of not having to monkey with the dropout spacing on the other side and ending up with a crooked wheel. They should be sold in pairs for the price Surly's asking.
Other Thoughts
I reinstalled my wheel on my karate monkey at least 4 or 5 times in the 2 years I owned it before getting these little things. (Broken spokes, etc.) When I replaced my wheel, I decided I was a lot better off with the monkey nuts, and I am SO GLAD I did. It was on the expensive side, but man, absolutely simple to get my wheel installed correctly, with no rubbing disc rotors, just no problems. With these weird horizontal dropouts, this monkey nut spacer thing is just perfect. Knocked off one star for how expensive these are. This is not Modern Bike's fault.

This is precisely made and fits my 2019 Karate Monkey perfectly! I ride an XL frame, and with 420mm chainstays it’s hard to keep the front wheel down on steep, seated climbs. I moved my seat forward, and this moves the rear wheel back 12.5mm. This has improved the climb significantly. It’s true you only need one but it takes a little fiddling to ensure your wheel is aligned correctly. So I came back and bought a second one so I can just slam the wheel in position and get to riding. Down the road I won’t miss the $20 compared to keeping the simplicity of my KM.
Cons
Well, we all wish things were less expensive. How about two for $30?

I ordered two sets(4)of these for swapping between wheelsets on my karate monkey and larger tires on my Wednesday. They are a great product and im sure you can get away with one monkey nut on the drive side for tire clearance and avoid slipping in the dropouts when your putting a heavy load on the crank(I prefer the Nuts on both dropouts) but they are over priced. Surly should adjust the pricing on items like this they charge up the a** for small parts.
