Pros

All parts, Alex rim, Shimano Acera hub, Sapim spokes, nipples, seem stout and durable. Silvery finish on (almost) everything. 35mm tire is actually 35mm wide on this rim. Very reasonable price. After a couple hundred miles, the rim is still true.

Cons

Moderately heavy. Acera hub is not beautiful. Finish on the hub is a silvery paint? that looks okay. QR is not silvery. Unlike the other parts, it's black.

Other Thoughts

This was purchased to replace a worn out Mavic rim on my 90s Fuji Touring with all silver parts. This wheel seems to be tough enough for loaded touring, and seems to be an excellent value (can you even purchase the parts for the price of the wheel?). The Acera hub is called by Shimano a mountain/trekking hub, and is at least a couple of steps above their low end, so that usually indicates good durability. The Alex rim also seems tough and has minimal branding. The finish on hub and rim are silvery enough that they match the rest of the bike. When my front wheel wears out, I will very likely buy the matching front wheel.
