Pretty good adapter, would be better with longer quill

Pros
Adapts the apparently uncommon 1 1/8" threaded steerer to use threadless stems and the top cap is flush with the OD of the adapter so it doesn't interfere with the mating parts.
Since the quill is pretty short I ended up using this with a 1 1/8" threadless steerer extender to get the handlebar position that I needed. There aren't very many elegant options for improving the ride position on a 1 1/8" quill stem bike.
Cons
The smooth surface of the the adapter did not allow sufficient friction with the steerer extender when torqued to the indicated levels. I can't say if this would be an issue with a stem as well since I didn't try it. Problem solved using park tool super grip on the interface. The quill gripped the threaded steerer with no problem, so just the normal thin coat of grease on that section.
